Rugged DC/DC converters for protected vehicles, defense platforms and 24/28 VDC power environments.

MilDef ROD Modular rugged DC/DC vehicle converter with 120 W and 200 W output options for protected defense platforms

Rugged DC/DC converters for protected vehicle systems

MilDef’s ROD Family includes rugged DC/DC converters for protected vehicles, communication systems and platform-integrated defense equipment. These converters support installations where onboard DC power must be converted into stable output voltage for connected IT, display or communication hardware.

Vehicle power environments can expose electronics to transients, spikes and unstable input conditions. Therefore, ROD converters include filtering, reverse polarity protection and surge resistance to help protect connected equipment. In addition, the family supports VG-compliant vehicle integration and demanding defense power architectures.

Several ROD series use compact IP65-rated housings for installation in protected platforms and field systems. As a result, system integrators can match output voltage, output power and mechanical requirements across different vehicle programs without leaving the same converter family.

Vehicle-focused DC/DC conversion

ROD converters adapt vehicle or platform DC input to regulated DC output for connected equipment. This supports stable power delivery for IT, communication, display and mission system hardware in protected vehicle environments.

Protection against onboard power transients

Filtering, surge resistance and reverse polarity protection help protect connected systems from electrical disturbances in vehicle power environments. Therefore, the family suits installations where power quality can affect operational reliability.

Fixed and modular output options

Fixed-output ROD series support specific voltage requirements, while ROD Modular adds more flexible output voltage and power options. In addition, the shared product logic helps simplify selection across different integration cases.

Explore the ROD Family

The ROD Family includes fixed-output and modular DC/DC converter series for different voltage and power requirements. ROD 04 provides 65 W output with 12 VDC or 14 VDC variants. ROD01.2 supports 19 VDC equipment with 80 W output power. Meanwhile, ROD 05 delivers 27.5 VDC output for systems that require stable 28 VDC power. For higher-power and multi-voltage requirements, ROD Modular adds 120 W and 200 W variants with several factory-set output voltage options.
